AND MAN BECAME A LIVING SOUL

Genesis 2:7 holds the very essence of our life and difference that we have that separates us from the animals and the rest of the creation God made.

First it says that the “Lord God” formed man of the dust of the ground. Our bodies are composed of the very elements of the created earth. I Corinthians 15:47 declares that “the first man is of the earth, earth”. We now know from science, what the first writer of Genesis recorded to be the basis of our bodies, that our bodies can be broken down to elements all found in the water and earth itself. That is why to vitalize our bodies and to stay healthy we eat foods that get nutrients from the earth that match what is in our body.

Then God breathed into man’s nostrils the breath of life. So man was made and formed with elements already created plus the element of God’s own breath of life which the Bible declares gave him “soul”. God directly interacted with man. Life can only come from life, and the living God is the only self-existent Being, so it must ultimately come from Him.

Meditate today on where you look for your life force. Do we look to God alone for our insight and life or do we look to the earthly things of this world to guide and direct our understanding. The Bible is written by the very inspiration of God and has stood the test of time. Why would we look for wisdom in other places? By comparing the wisdom of the Bible to other theories and ideas of men, we can judge for ourselves what is true or false.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I confess I often fail to consult you or your Word first before acting in this world. I pledge today to be more diligent in studying and infusing your word into my breath and essence of my soul you have given me. In Jesus name I pray, amen.

Complete Year’s Bible Reading

Note: Let me suggest that you read this in a King James Version. This version, in my opinion, is the closest to the original text. Do not use the New King James Version. Go to this link to learn more why this is so important:  http://www.christianmissionconnection.org/html/study_topics.html.

Tip: If you get behind in reading or you are just joining us, don't try to catch up by reading all that you missed, just pick up on that day's reading and go on.
